What is MCP? Connect Claude to the tools you already use
An introduction to the Model Context Protocol, the open standard that lets Claude talk to Notion, Google Drive, databases and hundreds of other tools.

The old problem: an AI cut off from your data
However capable Claude is, it can only help so much if it cannot reach your actual data. You end up copy-pasting back and forth all day.
MCP fixes exactly that
Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard from Anthropic that lets Claude connect directly to external data and tools, such as:
- Notion / Google Drive - search and read your own documents
- Databases - query real data and analyse it
- Slack / LINE - read and send messages
- Browser - open pages and test the site you are building
How do you start?
In Claude Desktop, go to Settings > Connectors and pick the tools you want to connect. In Claude Code, use claude mcp add.
Several members of our group have published their own MCP servers. Search the group for “MCP” to find them.
